WRCCF News

One of the events for the end of the school year is the awarding of scholarships for the graduating Wood River Rural High School Seniors. The Foundation is proud to a part of this event. Since the inception of the Foundation 467+ scholarships valued at $205,890.00 have been awarded from Named Funds with WRCCF. Additional scholarships have been awarded by Scholar Dollars that the Foundation is also involved with.

Some of the earliest named funds were for scholarships. From the annual report twenty-one scholarships named funds were created and awarded (closed). Today there are fourteen (14) active named fund scholarships that will be awarded spring 2021 to the Wood River Rural Graduating class. The annual report, November 2020 included a list of all scholarship named funds (active and the closed).

The newest named Scholarship fund was created in memory of Dean Kjar. Dean and his spouse, Pam, owned a plumbing business in Wood River and were active participants in supporting the community. At the time of his death Dean was on the Board of Directors for the WRCCF. These scholarships are to be awarded in students who are going to study for a trade, either at a trade school or at a community college.

The Wood River Community Centennial Foundation is proud work with families in establishing the scholarship named funds that pass along the scholarships for our WRRH graduating seniors.
