WRCCF & Wood River Fire join together for 501c3

The Wood River Volunteer Fire and Rescue (WRVF&R) recently entered into a Fiscal Sponsorship Fund Agreement with the Wood River Community Centennial Foundation (WRCCF). This will allow them to receive grants and/or tax-deductible contributions of cash, securities, property, bequests and other gifts to support the current and long-term operations.

Grant funding can be crucial for fire and rescue departments, especially for vital equipment that falls outside their regular budget. By joining with the WRCCF, the WRVF&R can compete for grants that would otherwise be unavailable to them. This can significantly improve their ability to serve the community.

The WRVF&R has always relied heavily on grants to fund their operations, as their budget is limited and cannot always cover the costs of needed equipment. By being associated with the WRCCF they can now receive donations from individuals and organizations that are tax-deductible. This is a win-win situation as it encourages more people and organizations to support the fire department, and at the same time, allows the WRVF&R access to funds that need to upgrade their equipment and training. This agreement carries out the mission of the WRCCF, to receive donations and funds for use when a need is identified.

The Wood River Community Centennial Foundation is a qualified Tax-Exempt Organization under the laws of the Internal Revenue Service, IRC 501(c)(3).  Tax Exempt donations made for the Wood River Volunteer Fire and Rescue should be made to the Wood River Community Centennial Foundation with the notation in memo line for the WRVF&R.  This is a testament to the community’s spirit of unity and support.
