At the Wrap-Up meeting for GoBigGive the participants were informed on the amount earned, Part of the money raised that day was designated for the Mark Dibbern Scholarship Fund. The remaining amount ($2,246.62) will establish a Benefactor’s Fund with the WRCCF. A Benefactor’s Fund is established by a gift of $1,000.00 or more. The funds will be used at the discretion of the WRCCF Board to approve grant requests for the Wood River area.
GoBigGive is sponsored by the Grand Island Community Foundation and Heartland United Way. The money that is given on that day and designated for the WRCCF is all turned over to the WRCCF minus 4% for processing and handling fees. The money given on that day qualified for prizes and matching grants. This resulted in an additional 25% over the amount contributed being paid out to the Wood River Community Centennial Foundation.
GoBigGive is scheduled for May 3, 2016. Thanks to all the donors in 2015 and we look forward to more donations in 2016 to benefit the Wood River Community area.
