A new endowed named fund has been established with the Wood River Community Centennial Foundation in memory of Ellen J. Luehr. Ellen and Bill, married on September 3, 1966 and lived in several different cities before making Wood River their family home. Ellen was an active participant in the local community, and particularly youth programs. She took an interest in the new facility, Stick Creek Kids, that was being developed when she moved to Omaha.
Her family established the Stick Creek Kids Endowment fund (partially with the memorial money). The income from this endowed fund will be distributed to the Stick Creek Kids upon request. Ellen left many friends and memories in Wood River and with this fund, her legacy will live on and benefit the coming generations of Wood River.
